The Florida Gators rushed for 418 yards as they ran over the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday for a 38-20 win.
Kelvin Taylor ran for 197 yards and two touchdowns while Matt Jones ran for 192 and two scores.
Treon Harris, making his first career start in place of the incumbent Jeff Driskel, threw for just 27 yards.
Both teams were efficient on third down, as they converted 50 per cent of their opportunities. Georgia (6-2) put up 460 yards of offense themselves but couldn’t stop a Florida (4-3) offense that scored 31 straight points.
Bulls Lose
A new quarterback, but similar results for the USF Bulls, as they fell to the Houston Cougars 27-3.
Steven Bench threw for 147 yards and an interception while Marlon Mack managed just 47 yards rushing as the Bulls’ (3-6) offense was stagnant again.
Houston (5-3) had 306 yards of offense, zero turnovers and converted 8-of-13 third down opportunities. Kenneth Farrow ran for 112 yards and a touchdown while Ryan Jackson added two running scores.
USF must win their final three games to be bowl eligible.
UCF Stutter
Justin Holman threw four interceptions as the UCF Knights were upset 37-29 by the UConn Huskies.
Holman did throw two touchdown passes, the first of which went 73 yards to J.J. Worton, who finished the game with 178 receiving yards.
William Stanback added 141 yards on the ground and two touchdowns but UCF (5-3) was undone by Holman’s lackluster performance.
UConn’s (2-6) Chandler Whitmer threw two touchdown passes while Ron Johnson added two running scores.
