Rookie Devyn Marble scored eight of his 13 points in overtime to propel the Orlando Magic past the Miami Heat 108-101 in South Beach.

The Magic (1-0) outscored the Heat (0-2) 13-6 in the extra frame after Andrew Nicholson hit a baseline jumper to tie the game at 95-95 with 0.2 seconds left in regulation.

Miami rookie Shabazz Napier had given the Heat the lead with 2.2 seconds in regulation after he hit two free throws.

Marble only played 13 minutes but hit 4-of-5 field goals, three of which were 3-pointers. He also added two assists.

Nikola Vucevic had 16 points and eight rebounds while Tobias Harris had 15 points and seven boards. Evan Fournier (13), Maurice Harkless (12) and Kyle O’Quinn (10) also scored in double digits for Orlando.

Luol Deng and Chris Bosh had 18 points each for Miami while James Ennis had 14 points and 10 boards.

Rookie Aaron Gordon started at small forward and finished with six points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes. Elfrid Payton came off the bench as Luke Ridnour started at point guard and struggled, going 1-of-8 from the floor. He had just four points but did add seven dimes and got to run the offense for a considerable amount of time. Ridnour was held pointless.

Orlando played exceptionally well on the defensive end as they held the Heat to just 39 per cent on field goals. They were even worse from behind the 3-point line, going 5-of-32. Orlando shot 46 per cent from the floor and out rebounded Miami 56-48.

The Magic took a 52-47 lead into half time. Orlando were without the injured Victor Oladipo, Channing Frye and Willie Green.

Orlando are the road again for their next preseason game as they take on the Indiana Pacers Friday night.
