Another day, another sprained MCL.

The Orlando Magic announced today that guard Victor Oladipo has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his right knee.

It’s the second MCL related injury for the Magic in the last four days as free agent signing Channing Frye was diagnosed with the same injury Friday.

According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, Oladipo injured himself following a play at the rim on Friday, but he completed the scrimmage.

"“It’s tough,” Oladipo told the Sentinel. “But, again, it’s a part of basketball. It happens. At the end of the day, I’ve just got to figure out how to stay close to my team and get better away from the court, whether it be watching film or watching the games or just improving myself mentally. It’s going to be huge.”"

It’s unclear how long the injury will keep Oladipo sidelined for but it typically takes between 4-6 weeks to recover from. However, it appears as though Oladipo’s sprain is not as serious as Frye’s, highlighted by the fact he was able to finish the scrimmage.

With Oladipo out, rookie Elfrid Payton will see an increase in minutes when the preseason begins tomorrow against Miami.

In other Magic injury news, Willie Green is also out with after hyper-extending his left knee.
