A whooping 64 players will be present when the Tampa Bay Lightning open training camp on Thursday.
The roster is compromised of 35 forwards, 22 defenseman and six goaltenders. Mattias Ohlund is technically player number 64, but his career is unofficially over.
The usual suspects will be in camp for the Lightning, including captain Steven Stamkos, Valtteri Filppula, Tyler Johnson, Victor Hedman and Ben Bishop.
Free agent signings Anton Stralman, Brian Boyle and Evgeni Nabokov will be present as will trade acquisition Jason Garrison. Ryan Callahan will get his first full camp with the Lightning after signing a new deal in the offseason.
2013 first round draft pick Jonathan Drouin will be in Tampa too as he looks to make the NHL roster after spending an extra year in junior while 2014 first round choice Anthony DeAngelo will also be at the Amalie Arena.
Training camp will see not just the Bolts finalize their roster, but also figure out who will be playing for the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL. Other players may end up in the ECHL or the eligible players will head back to junior hockey.
