Tampa Bay Buccaneers Inactives vs. Carolina Panthers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ season opening inactive list is highlighted by the fact they’ll be missing four men on defense against their NFC South rival Carolina Panthers.

Defensive lineman William Gholston and Da’Quan Bowers were ruled out earlier in the week, as was cornerback Rashaan Melvin and safety Bradley McDougald.

The Bucs also won’t dress three offensive lineman: Kevin Pamphile, Rishaw Johnson and Kadeem Edwards. That means Garrett Gilkey and Oniel Cousins will be the backup linemen for the Bucs.

Cornerback Brandon Nixon and wide receiver Solomon Patton, who were both promoted from the practice squad earlier this week when the team severed ties with Quinton Pointer and Louis Murphy, are active.

For the Panthers, star quarterback Cam Newton is inactive meaning the Bucs will face former Pro-Bowler Derek Anderson. Joe Webb will be his backup.

The Bucs and Panthers kick off at 4:25 PM Eastern from Raymond James Stadium.
