The Tampa Bay Buccaneers dropped to 0-2 in the preseason after a 20-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins Saturday night.

However, despite defeat, there were some excellent performances from some Bucs.

Gerald McCoy

It’s safe to say that McCoy is ready for the regular season. McCoy had three tackles and a sack that forced a fumble and ultimately led to the Bucs first touchdown of the night. He also cruised pass a Dolphins lineman to wallop Lamar Miller and also got into the backfield to stuff Damien Williams. McCoy only played a quarter but he was as dominant as ever.

Josh McCown

After a rough showing in the Bucs’ preseason opener, McCown found his rhythm on Saturday. He went 5-for-7 for 46 yards and threw a 7-yard touchdown strike to Vincent Jackson in the second quarter. He was effective in Jeff Tedford’s hurry up offense and his performance this week will quench any fears Bucs fans might have had from last week.

Solomon Patton

Patton made a strong claim to be the Bucs return guy for the 2014 season with his great showing on Saturday. He returned three kick offs for 91 yards and then had 32 punt return yards on 3 returns. He routinely hit the hole and got the Bucs good field position each time. He also had a catch for eight yards showing that he can also add depth to the wide receiver position.
