July 31 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Training Camp Notes

The main focus in Tampa today was what the Rays would do with David Price but the Bucs were also on the practice field again at One Buc Place.

Here are today’s notes, courtesy of the local media as always:
- Eric Page, Solomon Patton and Robert Herron were fielding punts today while Page returned one for a touchdown.
- Herron’s hands were suspect again today
- Defensive lineman Steven Means got some action with the punt coverage team
- Mike Glennon threw two picks in 7-on-7 drills
- Alterraun Verner, Rashaan Melvin and Mike Jenkins sat out practice today with injuries
- Lovie Smith appears happy with what Da’Quan Bowers has done so far
- Tommy Streeter continues to do good things
- Chris Owusu still appears to be ahead in the battle for the slot position but Streeter is pushing him hard
- Danny Lansanah picked off Josh McCown
- Jamon Meredith and Oniel Cousins played guard with the first team
- Page, Owusu and Charles Sims got looks at kick return
- Sims is impressing coach Smith as is defensive end Scott Solomon
The Bucs practice again tomorrow with the annual night practice that is being held at Raymond James Stadium.
