With the 56th overall pick in the NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic has selected Iowa guard Roy Devyn Marble.
In a 136 games for the Hawkeyes over a four-year collegiate career, Marble averaged 12.5 points per game. Last season, he averaged 17 PPG, while leading Iowa to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2006.
Marble shot 41 per cent from the floor during his career and also averaged a hair below three assists a game.
After being a bench player in his freshman year, Marble transferred himself into one of Iowa’s most important players during his four-year career.
His game as a whole needs improving though with perhaps the main focus being on his need to improve as a shooter and a defender.
It may also be hard for Marble to make the Magic roster.
The Magic acquired the 56th overall pick from the Denver Nuggets in the Arron Afflalo trade.
Earlier tonight, the Magic selected Aaron Gordon 4th overall before acquiring the rights to Elfrid Payton later in the evening.
