Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mandatory Minicamp Notes From June 10

Today was the first day of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ mandatory minicamp.

As expected, it came with a number of notes as Lovie Smith’s Bucs team took to the practice field at One Buc Place.

Here are today’s notes, courtesy of the local media in Tampa:

• First and foremost, the Bucs havesix tryout playersat camp, including former Iowa State rookiepunter Kirby van der Kamp, who was at rookie camp with the Bucs
• Carl Nicksis at minicamp butwill notbe participating
• Nicks said that he is “on schedule” to be at training camp and that he thinkshe’ll playin 2014
• Smith says that there areno injuriesto any player on the roster that will keep them from being in training camp
• Both Mike Evans andVincent Jacksonparticipatedin some capacity at minicamp. Evans was limited toindividual drillswhile Jacksondid much more
• Alterraun Vernerwasheld outof practice while Smith was impressed with cornerbackRashaan Melvin
• Lavelle Hawkinsalsodidn’t practicetoday
• Smith was particularlyimpressedwith wide receiverLouis Murphy
• Danny Gorreralso had agood dayat minicamp

• Smith also reiterated that there will be arotation of playersused at running back this season
