Just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Cleveland Browns, it appears they interviewed ex-Buccaneer Man Greg Schiano.
According to Ian Rappaport of NFL.com, Schiano was endorsed by Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to Browns owner Jimmy Haslam. Rappaport also reported that sources confirm the Browns thought that the hire would be a mistake.
The biggest question here is what made the Browns decide to go in another direction? Logic tells me they still have their eye on bringing in someone from the Seattle Seahawks. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if conversations about MRSA and a hope for an influx of Rutgers players deterred Haslam.
Don’t worry Browns fans. As bad as it must feel to hear Schiano was interviewed, it should feel equally as good to hear he was told no.
